An introductory course designed to provide insight into psychological and physical aspects of self-defense. The class structure emphasizes practical application of basic techniques.

Seminar Curriculum

1) Mental/Physical Warm Up - Ba Dua Gin, a set of movements designed to stretch the 12 classic Traditional Chinese Medicine meridans. Simultaneously relaxes and invigorates the individual.

2) Psychological Aspects of Self Defense - A brief discussion of the sources of fear in terms of self-defense and how to compartmentalize and overcome this fear.

3) Self-Defense Combination Instruction - A step-by-step instruction of a practical three technique combination. This segment includes individual technique instruction and striking pad application.

4) Self-Defense Escape Instruction - A step-by-step instruction of practical self-defense escapes applying components of the Self-Defense Combination.

The Women's Self-Defense Awareness Course is a practical, hands on course. All participants should be prepared to have fun and wear loose fitting clothing, sneakers and socks.
